What is UIF?
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (‘UIF’) is established by the Unemployment Insurance Act, and provides short-term relief to workers when they become unemployed or are unable to work because of maternity, paternity, or adoption leave, or illness.

How long does UIF payment take to reflect in bank account?
The average response time from your bank is 24 – 48 hours however your account with the department is updated once you have made the payment instruction.
How long does it take to get your UIF money?
You will be notified once your UIF claim is approved when to submit a payment request form.
The first payment will be made to your bank account two to four days after the process is complete. You must also claim within six months after your last day of employment.
