What is the history of Vellies?
The Dutch settlers who arrived in South Africa in the 17th Century are believed to be the first to make Velskoene based on traditional Khoisan footwear.
A strong suede or leather shoe or boot, the footwear was later embedded into the Afrikaaner culture when Velskoene was used for the Great Trek.
