This procedure explains various ways to How To Register as a teacher in Polokwane.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for registering as a teacher or Educator in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
  2. Please click the following link for the address and contact details of the office of the South African Council for Educators: Link
  3. Visit the office of SACE and obtain the SACE Application Form from the concerned department for registering as an educator. Or click to download: Link
  4. Complete the application form as required with relevant information under respective sections.
  5. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  6. Attach all the required documents with the completed SACE Application Form and submit to the concerned authority at the office of SACE.
  7. Please pay the fees recommended by the authorities at the office. Then, the application will be forwarded to the respective authorities for verification and validation of the application and attached documents.
  8. After all the necessary processes are completed and if the application and documents are found in order, the council will approve the application and the applicant will be registered as an Educator and issued a Certificate of Registration.

  2. To apply to register as a teacher or Educator online, visit the e-services portal by clicking on the following link: Link
  3. If you already have an account in the portal, you can enter your registered Email Address and Password in the respective fields and click on “Login” button to enter into the portal.
  4. Otherwise, click the “Sign Up/Register” option which is on the top of the page to create an account. The registration page will open.
  5. There are five steps to be completed for registration. In Step 1, the applicant should provide Personal details like name, ID number (for SA citizens) and Passport number (for Non-citizens) and then click on the “Next” button.
  6. In Step 2, provide a contact number and Email ID and Click on the “Next” button. In Step 3, add your Suburb/Township/Village and click the “Next” button. In step 4, create a password and click the “Next” button to proceed.
  7. In Step 5, enter the verification code shown and click the “Register” button. In the next page, you will be directed to enter the OTP which is sent to your mobile number and Email Id. Enter the OTP and click the “Submit” button.
  8. You will get a successful completion of registration message on the top of the page. Now enter the Login credentials in the respective fields and click on the “Login” button. You will be redirected to the ‘Dashboard’ page of the e-Government portal.
  9. In that page, click the “License for Teaching” option to register as an educator with the SACE. Accept the Terms and conditions and proceed to fill the application.
  10. On the dashboard menu, click on the “application” button. Follow the on-screen instructions and proceed to fill the application.
  11. Provide appropriate details in the relevant fields provided and upload documents wherever necessary.
  12. Once all the details have been provided, accept the declaration to confirm the legibility of the details provided.
  13. Then, submit the completed application in the e-services portal. The application and attachments will be examined and verified for validity.
  14. After all the processes are over, you will receive a response about the outcome of the application.

  • Attested university letterhead for complete academic record
  • PGCE certificate and complete academic record of PG

  • Certified copy of clearance certificate from SAPS
  • Proof of payment.
