What is gelatin in South Africa?
Gelatine is a natural thickening agent that can be used for pastry making as a thickening agent, in puddings, yogurt, gummy candies, etc.
It dissolves in warm water and takes on a jelly-like texture when it cools, to create form and structure, i.e. jelly. The gelatine contains bovine. This product is halal.
