What is Ibogaine used for?
Ibogaine is the main active ingredient of Tabernanthe iboga, a West African shrub that grows in the Congo and Angola and is isolated from the root bark.
It has been used traditionally as a hallucinogen, to suppress hunger and fatigue, and as an aphrodisiac.
How effective is ibogaine?
Most participants (72%) had used opioids for at least 4 years and 69% reported daily use. Most (80%) indicated that ibogaine eliminated or drastically reduced withdrawal symptoms.
