How long is a roll of tulle?
Each tulle fabric roll is 6 inchs wide by 100 yards long, on a spool. A 300ft tulle roll is rolled continuously on reels, with no breaks or tears.
How many rolls of tulle do I need for a skirt?
Cut three or four rolls of 6-inch-wide tulle for short tutus into 22-inch strips (more tulle = fuller skirt).
For long tutus, cut seven or eight rolls of 6-inch-wide tulle into the following length strips (Note: These sizes are not meant to go all the way to the floor, but rather to the ankles.): 12 to 18 months = 24”
How many yards of tulle do I need for a full skirt?
For a full kids skirt buy about 150 yards of 6-inch strips, for an adult-size skirt, go for 300 yards of 6-inch strips.
If you buy the tulle fabric by the yard, the fabric width being 54 inch, then you would need about 30 yards of fabric for an adult and 15 yards for a kids tutu skirt.
