University Fort Hare Faculty of Science and Agriculture Admission or Entry Requirement
B Agricultural Economics (Honours) – For admission to the Agricultural Economics option, a candidate must hold the B Agricultural Economics degree of the University, or have been admitted to the status thereof. By special permission of Senate, on recommendation of the Faculty Board, a holder of another Bachelor’s degree may be admitted.
A candidate shall not be admitted to any module for the Honours degree unless s/he has obtained the permission of the Head of Department. Normally, candidate will not be admitted to the Honours programme unless they have obtained at least 60% in the final year in the subject in which they wish to register for Honours. Specifically:
BSc Agricultural Economics (Honours) – A person shall not be admitted as a candidate for a degree unless s/he holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics of the University or has been admitted to the status thereof and has satisfied the Senate as to his/her qualifications in the subject of his/her proposed course of study.B Agricultural Extension (Honours) – For admission to the B Agricultural Extension option, a candidate must hold the B Agricultural Extension / Production degree of the University, or have been admitted to the status thereof. By special permission of Senate, on recommendation of the Faculty Board, a holder of another Bachelor’s degree may be admitted.
The Department offers three options at undergraduate level, namely B Agricultural Economics, B Agricultural Extension / Production, and BSc Agricultural Economics.
