What printer is best for edible images?
Only Canon and Epson brand printers are compatible with food-safe refillable edible ink cartridges.
Canon has the advantage that its printhead can be removed for cleaning or replacing, whereas Epson does not have a removable or replaceable printhead, so cleaning would be a very messy job.
How long is edible ink good for?
The edible images printed by Icinginks last for up to one year. Simply keep it lying flat, unrefrigerated, and sealed in the air-tight bag.
How often should I clean my edible printer?
If it’s used frequently then carrying out weekly maintenance is good practice. If the printer is used infrequently we strongly suggest you remove the cartridges from the printer, insert them back into the orange cradles supplied with your refillable cartridges and undertake a full printhead clean (see point 3 below).
Is edible ink safe?
Edible ink is ink that is safe to eat. It is used to decorate food, most often baked goods such as cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Novelty baked goods such as photograph cakes are made using edible ink.
