Stellenbosch University Application For 2026 | Opening & Closing Dates

Stellenbosch University (SU) applications for the 2026 academic year open on April 1st, 2025, and close on July 31st, 2025, for both undergraduate and residence applications. 

Application Period: Applications open on April 1st, 2025, and close on July 31st, 2025. 

Take note of these dates

1 April: Applications open for undergraduate programmes.
31 July:  Closing date for undergraduate programmes and residence applications.
1 October: Applications open for financial assistance at Stellenbosch University.
31 October: Applications close for Stellenbosch University financial assistance.
26 JanuaryApplications close for Diplomas in Public Accountability (School of Public Leadership ).

Application Fee: An application fee of R100 is payable by the following categories of applicants: South African citizens, holders of permanent residence in South Africa, and holders of refugee status in South Africa

  • Postgraduate Applications:
    • Some postgraduate programs may require applicants to first contact a prospective supervisor before formally applying. 
    • Check program requirements for specific instructions. 
    • Submit applications through the University’s SUNStudent applicant portal. 
  • NBTs: With a view to the 2026 academic year, all School of Tomorrow applicants must write the NBTs before the end of 2025 to ensure that their results are available before registration in 2026.
