Sol Plaatjie University SPU Online Application For Postgraduate 2023/2024
Solomon Tshekisho Plaatje was a South African scholar, journalist, linguist, politician, translator, and writer who lived from 9 October 1876 to 19 June 1932. Plaatje was a founding member of the South African Native National Congress (SANNC), which later became the African National Congress, and served as its first General Secretary (ANC).
The Sol Plaatje Local Municipality, which comprises the city of Kimberley, and the Sol Plaatje University, which opened its doors in 2014, are both named after him.
The online application for 2023/2024 has been open to all prospective students from far and near to apply to Sol Plaatjie University. Applications for postgraduate programs in 2023 have been extended to 31 March 2022.

Application Deadline 2023:
Applications close on 31 October each year. The University, therefore, encourages prospective learners (Undergraduates) to apply online or paper-based application forms. ( Applications submitted after the date stated will not be accepted please apply during the application cycle before the closing date to ensure your application is considered.) Late application may be accepted if spaces are available.

Sol Plaatjie University SPU Online Application Requirements 2023/2024
- Proof of payment receipt of your application fee (This is a non-refundable compulsory fee for every applicant)
- A Certified copy of your ID document(ID document is compulsory for South African citizens – your application cannot be processed without a certified copy of your ID and Passport Number for International Applicants)
- Exam Results: Final Grade 12 results (if available). Grade 11 results (if you currently doing grade 12) are very important for your application. Thus, have it on hand.
- A unique email address when applying either online or in a hard copy. Note that some of the systems do not accept emails from some of the universities: It is advisable to create and use a Gmail, Yahoomail address for the application.
Sol Plaatjie University SPU Online Application Process 2023/2024
The Sol Plaatjie University SPU online application is open to all prospective students who wish to further their education in postgraduate and undergraduate, both south African nationals and international students to apply. To apply online, students must have a valid email address and use a computer with internet connectivity.

Application Fees for the Sol Plaatjie University:All Applicants Applying must pay a non-refundable R100. for a timeouts application fee. International applicants must pay a non-refundable fee of R100. as well. Remember the fee needs to be paid before the closing date for the application date 31 October. A late application fee will attract a fee of R200. for both South African applicants and International applicants.

SPU Residence Application:
Sol Plaatjie University Online Application allows only applicants who have successfully applied for admission. Therefore if you have submitted your application then you may apply for residence. To apply for residence click here.

FYI: Submission of Results and certified Documents
Applicants must ensure that their Grade 11 and the latest Grade 12 results are submitted. Remember Failure to do this may result in delays in your application process. Always have it in mind to submit it within the application cycle. All the documents you attach will need to be certified copies of the originals.
NB: Make a photocopy of the original document and send the photocopied one.
International students will need to be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority and this evaluation will need to be submitted with the application form.
