What is Segway?
The Segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter invented by Dean Kamen and brought to market in 2001 as the Segway HT, subsequently as the Segway PT, and manufactured by Segway Inc. HT is an initialism for “human transporter” and PT for “personal transporter.”

Do Segways have weight limits?
Is there a weight requirement? The official Segway Inc. restrictions are that you must be between 100-260 pounds. We have had people on tours as small as 60 pounds and as heavy at over 360 and there has not been a problem.
Are Segways hard to ride?

Why was Segway discontinued?
The company said it was a decision based on economics. The PT, or personal transporter, made up only 1.5 percent of the company’s revenue last year, Segway President Judy Cai said in a statement.
Can you use Segways in public?
It is illegal to use a Powered Transporter: On a public road. In spaces that are set aside for use by pedestrians, cyclists, and horse-riders; this includes on the pavement and in cycle lanes.
