5. SANI PASS
The Sani Pass lies between South Africa and its small landlocked neighbor Lesotho. This drive is not for the faint-hearted, and should not be attempted except by experienced drivers.
From the South African side, you will be stopped if your vehicle is not deemed suitable (4×4 capability being a minimum requirement). Nevertheless, if you are properly equipped, and have the right vehicle, the reward is an incredible drive through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in South Africa.
