Rescu-Life Africa (PTY) Ltd (Registration number: 2012/191848/07) is a company registered with the Department of Trade and Industry as a training facility.

The Director of Rescu-Life Africa is Christopher Victor Jacka. Chris started his career in emergency services in 1982. He worked, and is qualified, in all three major fields of emergency services, namely ambulance, fire and rescue. Chris has vast experience in all of these fields and started his career in the South African Air Force as a rescue specialist, Benoni Fire Brigade and Western Cape Provincial Administration as a Rescue-Medic as well as the top post in the capital city of South Africa, Pretoria.

Chris obtained his Critical Care Assistant qualification in Cape Town under Dr McMahon who brought to South Africa the “current” emergency service scope from the United States. Chris is a fully qualified Fire Fighter and Fire Instructor and also obtained his Graduate Diploma from the International Fire Engineers Institute in the United Kingdom. Throughout his professional career he held top operational and training positions in the largest emergency services in South Africa.

Basic Ambulance Assistant

The aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and skills and insight to be able to assist in any emergency situation when treating patients. A very good basic knowledge on human anatomy and physiology will act as a foundation to be able to further studies in the emergency medical field, and to be able to effectively treat patients in most emergency situations.- Basic Ambulance Assistant

Fire Fighter 1,2 & Hazmat Awareness/Operations

The mission of the fire service is to save lives and to protect property. This is probably one of the most honourable and hazardous occupations. To be part of this elite group of people, we offer the fire fighter 1 course accredited by the Southern African Emergency Institute. The course is a very physical and practical course and is presented by dedicated and well experienced lecturers.The aim of Hazmat Awareness is to equip you with the knowledge and skills and insight to be able to identify a hazardous material incident. Further it will teach you how to deal with public safety concerns surrounding a hazardous material scene.- Fire Fighter 1 & Hazmat Awareness- Fire Fighter 2 & Hazmat Operations  

First Aid

The aim of a first aid level 1 course is to provide a person with a very basic introduction to the medical field. After completing this course a person will be able to handle most office and domestic accidents.- First Aid Level 1-3

Industrial Fire Fighting

This one day course is accredited by the department of labour. It includes full training on the use of fire extinguishers and hose reels.- Industrial Fire Fighting

Rescue

 Aquatic Rescue

 The aim of this course is to provide you with the necessary skill, knowledge and insight needed to function as an aquatic rescuer. This course meets and exceeds the NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and training for technical rescue incidents of an aquatic nature. The academic and practical learning outcomes of this module are in line with those of the tertiary Medical Rescue Technology Modules offered as part of the Degree in Emergency Medical Care, and as such meet the registered SAQA outcomes for the field.- Rescue

Rope Rescue

The aim of this course is to provide you with the necessary skill, knowledge and insight needed to function in a mountain rescue or

any high angle rescue operation.- Rescue   Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. 

BLS for Healthcare Providers is presented according to the American Heart Association standards.

After successful completion of the course, the learner will receive a BLS card as well as a CPD Certificate of 15 CPD points.
