How do you stop a radiator crack from leaking?

Radiator stop leak is an additive designed to seal leaks in a radiator that forms over time. It uses ceramic fibers and sodium silicate that coagulate to fill small cracks while also preventing future leaks.

How long will the radiator stop the leak last?

It depends. If the leak is mild to moderate, we’ve had customers run 10,000-50,000 miles with no further issues.

If the leak is more severe, or on the edge of becoming severe, the repair might last a shorter duration. The advice we always give is to act at the first sign/symptom of a cooling system problem.

What damage can a cracked radiator cause?

A vehicle’s radiator helps to keep the engine from overheating. It contains a mixture of water and coolant, and if it is cracked, your car can break down. A bad radiator can also lead to engine damage.

What is the immediate effect of a leaking radiator?

A radiator leak will stop your cooling system from working properly, meaning the engine will soon start to overheat.

If the temperature warning light appears or steam is coming from under the bonnet, a leak or malfunctioning part is likely to be the culprit.
