What is QCTO?
The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) is a Quality Council established in 2010 in terms of the Skills Development Act (Act 97 of 1998) as amended in 2008.
The QCTO also offers guidance to skills development providers (private and public) and assessment centers that must be accredited by the QCTO in order to implement occupational qualifications.

How do I get a QCTO certificate?
In order to be issued a Trade Certificate, the learner must have completed and passed a Trade Test at an accredited trade test center.
To register for a trade test please contact your nearest accredited trade test center. They will explain the processes and procedures to follow.
How much does it cost to get a trade certificate in South Africa?
Generally, the cost of a trade test in South Africa can range from R1,000 to R5,000 or more. Some trade tests, including the preparation and exam, can cost up to R15,000.
