What is Public Servants Association?

The Public Servants Association of South Africa is a trade union for public sector workers in South Africa.

The PSA is the largest politically non-affiliated trade union for public servants in the country. It was founded in 1920 and has a membership of more than 235,000 members.

What does PSA do for its members?

As a trade union, the PSA’s principal purpose is to regulate the relationship between employers and employees.

The PSA creates collective bargaining leverage for its members and provides a service to them by Negotiating fair terms of remuneration and representing their interests in a variety of bargaining councils.

Purview Membership of the PSA is available to all persons employed by the State and any organ of state, other employee groups as may be designated by the Board, or any organization associated and/or related to any organ of state or public service and to those persons as described in section 14.
