Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate. parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning.

parkrun is positive, welcoming, and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Which parkrun is the best in South Africa?

One of the best is the Modderfontein Reserve parkrun.

This 5km run sets off every Saturday at 8 am from the nature reserve on Arden Road, Lethabong. Be aware that the gate for entry to the park run closes at 7h45, so arrive early.

How do I start a parkrun in South Africa?

To register with us please head to parkrun.com/countries and select your country. 

Then click register from the top right menu and fill in the form.

Finally await your confirmation email containing your barcode, print it out and remember to bring it with you when you run. Once registered, you remain registered for life.
