Is an MGB a good classic car?
Although nothing was state-of-the-art, the MGB was an exceptionally good compromise and could be tuned to great success for competition.
The engine is torquey and powerful enough for decent performance, and the suspension offers a good balance between a decent ride and reasonable handling.
How fast can an MGB classic car go?
Although the acceleration of the GT was slightly slower than that of the roadster, owing to its increased weight, top speed improved by 5 mph (8.0 km/h)
to 105 mph (169 km/h) because of better aerodynamics. A special edition of the GT was produced in 1975 for the 50th Anniversary of the MG Car Company.
What engine is in the MGB classic car?
All MGBs (except the V8 version) used the BMC B-Series engine. This engine was essentially an enlarged version of that used in the MGA with engine displacement being increased from 1,622 to 1,798 cc.
