What complaints does the Legal Ombudsman deal with?
We investigate complaints about the service you have received from your legal service provider. For example, you might be unhappy about the service you received when you made a personal injury claim,
when you bought a house, or when you tried to sort out a family law issue.
Do Legal Services Ombudsman charges per complaint?
The fee would be payable once a complaint had been formally accepted as a case by the Legal Ombudsman and would be collected at the end of the process.
The fee would apply to all complaints that are in the jurisdiction and are not dismissed or discontinued at any stage.
How long does Legal Services Ombudsman take to solve a complaint?
We aim to resolve complaints within three months of the date the complainant confirmed the details of the complaint with us.
However, if a final decision is required or we need more information, it could take longer.
