Hunting Packages In South Africa

What is Hunting?

Hunting is the human practice of seeking, pursuing, capturing, or killing wildlife or feral animals.

The most common reasons for humans to hunt are to exploit the animal’s body for food (i.e. meat) and useful animal products (fur/hide, bone/tusks, horn/antler, etc.), for recreation/taxidermy (see trophy hunting), although it may also be done for non-exploitative reasons such as removing predators dangerous to humans or domestic animals (e.g. wolf hunting), to eliminate pests and nuisance animals that damage crops/livestock/poultry or spread diseases (see varmints), for trade/tourism (see safari), or for ecological conservation against overpopulation and invasive species.

South Africa is considered a safe country to hunt in. Most hunters are met at the airport or guest house and driven directly to the hunting area. The hunters are always accompanied by a local representative that knows what areas to avoid.

What month is best to hunt in South Africa?

Across Southern Africa, we tend to think of “peak safari season” as the winter months of June, July, and August.

For many of us, this coincides nicely with traditional summer vacations and, conveniently, does not conflict with most American hunting seasons. These winter months are great for safaris.
