In this guide, we’ll show you how you can register for an IELTS exam either offline or online and to also know the the test centers, dates, and locations. Note that the IETLS exam comes in three forms viz: IELTS Academic (for schooling), IELTS General TrainingIELTS for UKVi or Life Skills (for visas, immigration, etc). You can choose which test best works for you either the paperwork test or the computerized test, and both are delivered in the test centers or locations.

The British Council, South Africa offers IELTS tests in seven locations: JohannesburgPretoria, Cape TownDurban, Port Elizabeth, Namibia, and Mozambique with up to two test dates per month.

How to Register for IELTS Exams in South Africa.

– Check the availability and select your test date (you will need to select a separate test date for your Speaking test).

– Create an account with the British Council.

– Register and pay the required fee. If you are under 18, you will need your parent or guardian to do the registration for you.

Note that to continue with your registration, you will need:

• An identification document of the test taker. Make sure you have a photocopy or a photo of the identification document at hand, as you will need to upload this as part of the booking process.

• A payment card (if online payment option is available and you wish to pay online)
