Showmax’s standard plan comes with thousands of movies and series to stream. Register up to five devices, watch on two streams at once, and get full access to everything on Showmax. In South Africa, Showmax Standard costs R99 per month.
Do you get Showmax free with DStv?
If you are a DStv Premium customer, you can add Showmax standard* to your DStv bill at no extra cost. If you are are DStv Compact Plus, Compact, Family, or Access customer, you’ll get 50% off your Showmax standard subscription if you add it to your DStv bill.
Is Showmax or Netflix better?
If you want better Netflix packages (standard or premium), then Netflix is a little costlier than Showmax.
Again, you will have to opt for one of the pricier packages if you want to stream from multiple devices.
There are few South African productions to choose from. Sports streaming is not yet available.

Streaming video can use up to 3GB of data per hour depending on the quality and streaming service. Showmax’s data-saving tools can reduce this to 100MB an hour when streaming on mobile and less than 200MB for downloads.

How do you pay for Showmax?
Go to showmax.com and sign up. Select Vodacom as your payment method then clicks on Add to Vodacom bill.
Go to My Account and select Manage Subscription.
If you have an existing payment method, cancel it.
Select Subscribe now, and choose a new payment method.
