What is Hospitality?

Hospitality is the relationship between a guest and a host, wherein the host receives the guest with some

amount of goodwill, including the reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers.

Hospitality At Nkangala TVET College

Duration: One year per NQF level.

Admission requirements:  

  • Grade 9 or higher
  • ABET Level 4
  • NQF Level 1

To obtain a National Certificate: A total of 7 subjects: 3 Fundamental and 4 Vocational subjects.

Access to the following vocational activities:

  • Manage a guest house;
  • Deal with client services in an accommodation facility;
  • Work as an assistant cook/chef, preparing food in a restaurant, hotel, or guest house;
  • Work as a waitron;
  • Work as a housekeeper in a hotel/inn/guest house.
