Are all cartridge fuses the same?
Cartridge fuses have a contact point on each end and are compatible with 240-volt settings. Like other fuses, they are available in different sizes, including smaller ferrule fuses with a 60-amp rating and larger knife-blade cartridges with a 600-amp rating.
What is the rating of a cartridge fuse?
Most cartridge fuses are rated for 250 Volt to 600 Volt circuits, dependent on the class of the fuse, and rated for varying amperages as high as 600 amps, again dependent on the specific fuse.
Do cartridge fuses wear out?
Fuses degrade with time and will eventually fail. A blown fuse does not always mean that there is something wrong with the equipment, and in this article, we will show you how to replace such a fuse. However, do not keep replacing a fuse if it blows immediately after you replace it.
