The college has been fully accredited by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), which is the Education and Training Quality Assurer (ETQA) for all training in pre-hospital emergency care in the country. Basic Ambulance Assistant training is currently registrable with the HPCSA.
The college is not exclusively for the training of Emergency Care Practitioners but we intend to train all categories of health workers in aspects of emergency care.
Basic Ambulance Assistant Course
- Course duration is 120 hours
- 5 weeks
- Consist of a theory and classroom practical component
Requirements
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- Certified copy of ID
Basic Ambulance Assistant Skills
- Basic CPR
- Basic Airway Management
- Uncomplicated obstetric delivery
- Full spinal immobilization and extrication
- Various medication
- Responding to the scene for assistance and transportation
Basic Ambulance Assistant Cost
- Course cost is R11,000.00
- The deposit required is R7,000.00
- Proof of payment to be produced upon registering
AEA Entrance Exam Dates 8 March & 4 July – R500.00
Requirements for the entrance exam:
- Proof of 1000 hours
- Certified copy of ID
- Current BAA registration
- Proof of payment
