What is ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING?

The NATED N4-N6 Engineering qualification is designed to provide the theoretical component for you to attain a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering. The practical component comprises 24 months (2000 working hours) of work experience relevant to your trade.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING At Thekwini TVET College

Duration: 3 months for each level

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING N1 – N3

Entry Requirement :

  • For N2: Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science, each with a minimum pass of 40% (Achievement Level 3)
  • For N3: Electrical Engineering N2 Campuses: Appelsbosch (N1 – N3), Durban (N3), Umlazi-V (N2 – N3)

Campuses: As-Salaam (N2 – N4), Appelsbosch (N2 – N3), Swinton (N1 – N3), Durban (N3), Umlazi-V (N2 – N3)

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING N4 – N6

Entry Requirement:

  • For N4: Electrical Engineering N3 or NCV: Electrical Infrastructure Construction Level 4
  • For N5: Electrical Engineering N4
  • For N6: Electrical Engineering N5

Workplace Experience: On completion of N6 learners have to find employment with a registered company that will give them practical training in the place of work to gain the required experience. The N6 certificate can be converted to a Diploma after 24 months of relevant experience.
