Can the DStv decoder be repaired?
The standard repair fee is R700 for an HDPVR / Explora and R320 for a Single View decoder. If you have decoder insurance, you will not be required to pay the repair fee as this is included in your cover. When you bring your decoder in, you will be given a refurbished model as a replacement.
How do I fix a corrupted DStv decoder hard drive?
1) Remove the power cable
2) Hold down the P+ button on the front panel of the decoder (do not release the button).
3) While P+ is pressed down – Insert the power cable (Power Up decoder).
4) Release the P+ button only when the word “CODE” appears on the top right side of the TV screen.
