Cremation service takes place when a funeral is followed by cremation. However, you can also arrange for a direct cremation service without having a funeral or memorial service.
Simply put, cremation is the process of subjecting a dead body to high temperatures (1600-2000 degrees Fahrenheit) to reduce it to bone fragments.
The cremated remains so obtained are then pulverized to a uniform powdery consistency. This irreversible process is carried out in a crematory within a crematorium.

Type of Direct Cremation In South Africa
Direct Cremation is a disposition option in which the body is cremated in the days immediately following death, without a funeral service beforehand. Direct Cremation is the most economic (affordable) option for disposition.
Basic features of Direct Cremation:
Because Direct Cremation does not include a formal funeral or any pre-funeral events, many of the costs of a traditional funeral are avoided.
• The body is cremated within a few days after death as soon as necessary schedules have been completed and the required permit has been obtained
• The body is usually cremated in a simple container, rather than an expensive casket
• There is no viewing, visitation, or wake before the cremation, which eliminates the costs associated therewith
• A memorial service may be held at a later date, which eliminates the need for an expensive casket and funeral arrangements
A summary of what our Direct Cremation Service includes:
• Removal of body from place of death to funeral home for preservation until service
• Registration of death
• Completion of necessary schedules in order to obtain permit for permission to cremate
• Body then placed in suitable cremation coffin and transported to crematorium
• Body cremated
• Ashes may either be scattered at the crematorium or returned to the family
• Should the family wish to retain the ashes, an urn will be provided
