The application window is open for; First-time Central University of Technology applicants, Central University of Technology students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization Applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space or who were offered a space, accepted the offer and did not register and students completing a higher certificate or any other program and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies.

What do you need to study at the Central University of Technology

You have an NSC or NCV with an endorsement that allows entrance to degree studies (Bachelor’s degree) or an equivalent qualification.
You meet all the minimum admission requirements for the program you intend to study. Meeting the minimum admission requirements for your chosen/intended program of study does not guarantee admission, as limited spaces are available in each program.
You have a minimum level of 4 (50%) in the chosen UFS language of instruction: English or Afrikaans (only applicable to certain programs).
You must pass certain school subjects with a minimum level of achievement in order to take a certain university module. Please refer to the section on the faculty-specific admission requirements, which also includes the respective compulsory subjects and achievement levels required per program.

Application Fees for the Central University of Technology

South African citizens Applying must pay a non-refundable R220 for a timeous application fee. International applicants must pay a fee of R275. Remember that this fee must be paid before the application closes on 31 October.A late application fee will attract a fee of R440 for South African applicants and R550 for International applicants.

Step #2: Central University of Technology CUT Online Registration; after clicking the link on step one above, it will direct you to the Central University of Technology Online Application System form where you should fill in all the required information, If you are a first-time applicant then you need to get registered first, First-time applicants are applicants that have not used the Central University of Technology online application system before and have no accounts to enable them to log in to the system using their username and passwords. The information needed during the registration stage includes your name, email, password, type of program you are applying for, and your qualification mode.
Step #3: Upload supporting documents; Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and Central University of Technology students starting new stuff). The due date for uploading the required documents is the application’s closing date. No documents submitted after the closing date for applications will be accepted. The Central University of Technology does not provide scanners or electronic devices. Please ensure that your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before starting the CUT Online Application process.
Step #4: CUT Application fee payments: Pay the application fee once you’ve received a student number from the Central University of Technology. Use the student number you receive from the Central University of Technology and the application fee reference number (i.e. STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030). Your application will only be accepted and processed once the fee has been paid. Be advised that this is a non-refundable fee.
