Important Steps for Applying to CPUT 2026: A Checklist
Before you apply for a course at CPUT, consider the following tips:
- Download the CPUT prospectus to review the minimum and faculty-specific requirements for your preferred course.
- Gather all required documents and have them certified, ensuring certifications are no older than 3 months.
- If applying online, convert all documents into an uploadable format (TIFF, PDF, JPG, or GIF), with a maximum file size of 2MB each.
- Save the documents separately and consult the list of additional admission requirements specific to your qualification.
- Create an email address (Yahoo or Gmail) for application purposes.
- Ensure your name matches exactly on all your documents
CPUT Application Requirements
You need to have the documents below to apply for a course at CPUT.
- Final Grade 11 results
- Identity Document
- Minor Application Declaration (Less than 18 years)
- English Proficiency
- English Translation Final Grade 11 equivalence results
- Final Grade 12 equivalence results
- Letter confirming registration for upgrading of results
- Final Grade 12/School Leaving Results
- Academic Record: Certificate of Conduct and Qualifications obtained
- Passport/Asylum Seeker/Permanent Residency permits
- SAQA Certificate
- Previous Studies & Final Grade 11 equivalence translation
CPUT Application Process
All new and returning students must follow the steps outlined below to complete their CPUT online applications:
Step 1: Choose a course
- Select a qualification you want to pursue.
- Download the prospectus here
- You can select up to three courses to improve your chances.
Step 2: Complete the form
- Download the application form and complete it manually or complete the online application form by following the screen instructions
- Completed application forms and accompanying documents must be submitted to the Admissions Office. You can submit your application form and accompanying documents in two ways:
- Forms can be hand-delivered at the campus where the programme is offered. The venues of offering of all programmes are outlined in the application form.
- Forms can also be posted to the Admissions Office at the campus where the programme is offered
Step 3: Upload and Submit the forms
- Gather your documents or upload further/ outstanding documents.
- Pay the application fee if you applied manually
- Submit them online if you completed the online application form.
Step 4: Track your application
- Prospective applicants, who have submitted an application, can track the progress of their application online or by calling.
