Applications for the 2021 academic year intake opens on Monday, 20 May for all undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.

To apply to Cape Peninsula University of Technology , you need the documents below :
1) A certified copy of the green bar coded ID
2) Proof of payment of any relevant application fees
3) Certified copy of grade 11 results and any latest grade 12 results
Applicants must check individual further requirements for each course and each tertiary institution. Please also be aware of NBTs and check with your university if you need NBT results to apply.
FYI: South Africans learners wishing to apply online will need a working email address and an ID number. Foreign learners wishing to apply will need to have their passport number.

How to Apply to Cape Peninsula University of Technology
When Should I apply?
Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible in the application cycle. You can find CPUT’s online application form here.
Applications open in May and close at the end of September.

South Africans learners wishing to apply online will need a working email address and an ID number. Foreign learners wishing to apply will need to have their passport number.
NOTE: Some courses require students to submit additional information as part of their application, be sure to check this out when applying.
Application Fees:
Applicants are required to pay an application fee of R100 before their application form can be processed. All applicants must attach a copy of the proof of payment to their application form, as well as keep the original proof of payment just in case.NOTE: A late application fee of R150 applies to applications submitted in October. CPUT accepts three payment methods:
1. Cash payments, which can be made directly at the Cashiers’ Office on the applicants preferred campus.
2. A bank deposit, using the bank details below:

Submitting of Results and Documents:
School learners must ensure that all examination results from Grade 11 until September of Grade 12 are submitted. Failure to do such may result in delays within the student’s application process. You might find that you applied early in Grade 12 and thus only sent in your final Grade 11 results. If this is true, as the year progresses and you receive more results keep sending them through to UCT, that way they will have all your results by the time finals come around.
Transferring students should too ensure that all transcripts and academic records are submitted as early as possible as well as that a final transcript of current studies being undertaken reaches the Admissions Office as soon as possible after receipt.

Residences
CPUT does offer residence for students, however spaces are limited. There are 2552 spaces available on Bellville Campus, 2732 on Cape Town Campus and 540 spaces on Wellington Campus. Residences are offered to both local and international students.
Residence life can often be described as a students “must- experience” and something that all students should be part of. Through residences, students are exposed to many opportunities for personal development and learning that ensures that when you graduate you not only leave with a qualification but also necessary life skills to achieve in the outside world.

IMPORTANT: Prospective postgraduate students for full thesis studies must first identify a research topic and supervisor before applying.
Acceptance is dependent on a supervisor being available for a specific field of study – you should consult with the department before submitting your application.

RETURNING higher degree (Master’s and Doctoral) and structured Master’s degree candidates must register by 6 March each year.

What Is Cape Peninsula University of Technology Admission Requirement?
Admission requirements for the different courses offered at CPUT can be found under Courses and fees. You may also be required to complete a series of tests to assist in the placement process.
Students following the Cambridge system should take note of the following requirements:
- Passes of at least five different subjects of the IGCSE and HIGCSE study levels, of which at least two are HIGCSElevel subjects.
- A pass in the language which is the medium of instruction at the University (English or Afrikaans).
- Specific pass grades: IGCSE: A, B or C; HIGCSE: 1, 2 or 3.
Other senior school qualifications will be reviewed on merit.
