BSc in Physiotherapy at University of Stellenbosch

BSc Physiotherapy is a 3-year graduate-level course.

Physiotherapists are qualified to provide preventive and therapeutic services which aim at restoring function and preventing disability arising from disease, trauma, or injury.

Minimum Requirement

Write the NBTs AQL and MAT by 30 June
• An aggregate of at least 60% for the NSC or an equivalent qualification (excluding Life Orientation)
• Mathematics 50%
• Physical Sciences 50%
• Life Sciences 50%

Admission requirements

For admission to the University you need:
• A National Senior Certificate or school-leaving certificate from the Independent Examination Board as certified by Umalusi with admission to bachelor’s degree studies; or
• A university exemption certificate issued by the South African Matriculation Board to students with other school qualifications.
Admission to bachelor’s degree studies requires that you obtain a mark of at least 4 (50-59%) in each of four designated university admission subjects.

Which subjects are required to study physiotherapy?

Subject requirements for Bachelor of Physiotherapy: Maths, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences, all at level 4 with a minimum of 30 points. Only students applying for Physiotherapy as the first choice will be considered.
