This program combines the study of wood structure with the properties and technology of major wood products. It introduces wood as an industrial raw material and stresses topics such as industrial processing and trees physiology and development.
Bachelor of Science in Forestry is a four-year undergraduate program that is divided into eight equal semesters. It provides students with the knowledge and training about Forestry. The forestry program trains students in the managing of forests, new plantation, maintaining old plantations, and other natural resources.

Admission requirements
For admission to the University you need:
• A National Senior Certificate or school-leaving certificate from the Independent Examination Board as certified by Umalusi with admission to bachelor’s degree studies; or
• A university exemption certificate issued by the South African Matriculation Board to students with other school qualifications.
Admission to bachelor’s degree studies requires that you obtain a mark of at least 4 (50-59%) in each of four designated university admission subjects.
