Bachelor of Dietetics (BDietetics) Dietetics is a supplementary health care profession, like, amongst others, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. The core business of dietetics is to promote the quality of life of individuals and/or communities by means of nutrition care.
Minimum Requirement
Write the NBTs AQL and MAT by 30 June
• An aggregate of at least 50% for the NSC or an equivalent qualification (excluding Life Orientation)
• Mathematics 50%
• Physical Sciences 50%
• Life Sciences 50%
• Complete and submit the Clinical Visitation Form for Dietetics by 31 July.
Admission requirements
For admission to the University you need:
• A National Senior Certificate or school-leaving certificate from the Independent Examination Board as certified by Umalusi with admission to bachelor’s degree studies; or
• A university exemption certificate issued by the South African Matriculation Board to students with other school qualifications.
Admission to bachelor’s degree studies requires that you obtain a mark of at least 4 (50-59%) in each of four designated university admission subjects.
