Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Games are played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end.

Irene van Dyk MNZM (née Viljoen; born 21 June 1972) is a South African-born New Zealand netball player. A goal-shooter, she is one of the world’s best-known netballers and is the most capped international player.
Leana de Bruin
Leana de Bruin (née du Plooy) (born 9 July 1977) is a South African and New Zealand international netball player. De Bruin played 34 tests for South Africa before moving to New Zealand in 2000.
She made her on-court debut for the Silver Ferns in 2003 and has represented New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games and Netball World Championships, playing in the goal defense and keeper positions.
2009 she pulled out of the team due to pregnancy, before returning the following year.
Michelle Hess
Michelle Hess (born 21 September 1984 in Northern Cape Town) is a South African netball player. Having played with the Queensland Firebirds in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy in Australia, Hess has been confirmed as a member of the Queensland side in the 2008 Australian Netball League.
She also represented South Africa at the 2005 World Youth Netball Championships in Florida.
Precious Mthembu
Precious Mthembu (born 11 July 1984) is a South African netball player. She plays in the positions of C and WD. She participated in the 2011 World Netball Series in Liverpool, UK.
Amanda Mynhardt
Amanda Mynhardt (born 9 January 1986) is a South African netball player. She plays in the positions of GK and GD. She is currently captain of the South Africa national netball team and has competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore.
She has also participated in the 2010 World Netball Series and the 2011 World Netball Series, both held in Liverpool, UK.

Maryka Holtzhausen (born 2 June 1987) is a South African netball player. She plays in the positions of GA and WA.
She is a member of the South Africa national netball team and competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore.

The Proteas are currently coached by Australian coach Norma Plummer who returned to the role for a second time in November 2022 and are captained by Bongiwe Msomi.
