Baccalaureus Educationis: (Fet): Specialisation at Tshwane University of Technology

The Baccalaureus Educationis (BEd) is a qualification directed at initial teacher education for educators in schools. This qualification is also suitable for the training of experts for education-related careers such as training officials.

To apply for admission, please visit www.tut.ac.za.

A valid e-mail address is required before an electronic application can be submitted.

Reference number

When the application has been processed, the applicant will be allocated a unique reference number (his/her student number) for identification purposes.

Admission status

• Click on MENU,
• Click on STUDY AT TUT,
• Click on I WANT TO STUDY,
• Click on Check your admission status,
• Enter your id number,
• Click on submit.
A new screen will open with your reference number.

Your status will be displayed and you can view and print a copy of the letter available.

Admission requirement(s) and Selection criteria:

Applicant with a National Certificate (Vocational):

Admission requirement(s): A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor’s degree endorsement, or an equivalent qualification, with an achievement level of at least 5 for home language and 4 for the first additional language, and at
least 4 for Mathematics or 5 for Mathematical Literacy.

Selection criteria: To be considered for this qualification, Applicants must have an Admission Points Score (APS) of at least 25 (excluding Life Orientation).

Assessment Procedure: No further assessment will be done.

Applicants who achieve the minimum APS will be considered until the programme complement is full.

All completed applications received within the published due dates will be ranked.

After consideration of the Departmental Student Enrolment Plan, only the top-ranking applicants will be selected. Once a programme is full, a waiting list will be in place to provide an opportunity for applicants to fill places
of those who did not register on time.

check their application status on the TUT website, www.tut.ac.za.
Intake for the qualification: January only.
Minimum duration: Four years.
Presentation: Day classes.
Closing date for application: 31 July.
