How do I get a job in opera?

Step 1: Strengthen Singing and Acting Skills. Becoming an opera singer involves a long career path; it takes years to properly develop a voice.

Step 2: Earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.

Step 3: Consider an Advanced Degree.

Step 4: Apprentice at an Opera House.

Can you make a living with a music degree?

Performing and teaching are the two most common careers in music, but those alone don’t begin to cover what music majors can pursue once they graduate.

Internships are especially important for working in any of the music industry/music business/technology/recording fields.
