Advanced Diploma In Agriculture Production Management At University Of Mpumalanga UM

Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Production Management at UMP aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge and attitude needed to contribute to building the capacity of farmers, industries and agricultural sectors to innovate and to engage in market-oriented sustainable agricultural production,
agricultural management, diversification of products and value adding.

The graduates will contribute to strengthening the capacity of the nation to meet its agricultural objectives.

They will help meet the demand for professional practitioners who can participate in leading South Africa agriculture through the complex world of agricultural production management while at the same time supporting and helping to expand commercial agricultural activities and production management

DURATION:
Advanced Diploma Agricultural Production Management is a one-year, 120 credit, with NQF exit level 7 qualification.

CURRICULUM
Advanced Diploma Agricultural Production Management can be taken full-time over one year or part time over two years.

The focus of this programme is on policy and practice, and students will complete modules in Crops and Horticulture; Small and Large stock; Strategic Management; Project Management for Development; Agricultural Production Management and Experiential Learning.

The Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Production Management includes a period of Work Integrated Learning in which Production Management concepts, principles, methods and tools are applied in a real-world agricultural management and production setting.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Of Advanced Diploma In Agriculture Production Management At University Of Mpumalanga UM
The minimum entrance requirement for the Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Production Management is a level 6 Diploma in Agriculture. Applicants with a Bachelors’ Degree in Agriculture who wish to study Agricultural Production Management will also be considered.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT ACCUMULATION AND TRANSFER (CAT)
Applicants wishing to be considered for admission in terms of RPL or to have credits transferred to this programmed must indicate this on their application. The University policy on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Credit Accumulation and Transfer (CAT) will be applied.

PROGRESSION
Students after successfully completing this Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Production Management will be able to apply for admission to the Bachelor
of Agriculture (Honors) in Agriculture at UMP.
