How long do you leave bleach on wood?

On soft wood, you’ll see results very quickly; on hard woods the bleaching takes longer. Let the acid work for about 20 minutes, then wipe it off with a damp cloth.

If the surface isn’t fully or evenly bleached, reapply the acid as necessary. On hard woods, complete bleaching may take up to an hour.
