Is castile soap the same as liquid soap?
Whereas a castile soap is made from plant based fats and oils, other natural soaps are made from animal fats like lard or tallow. If a liquid soap isn’t made with either plant or animal based fats, they’re not soaps at all, they’re detergents.
How do you make liquid castile soap?
To make a liquid Castile soap, dissolve some of the paste in distilled water. I ususally use a ratio of one part soap paste to 2-3 parts distilled water.
It can be left overnight to dissolve on its own, stirring occasionally, as needed. You can also use heat to speed up the process.
