The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is a South African government student financial aid scheme that provides financial aid to undergraduate students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education after finishing high school. It is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

How long does it take for NSFAS to approve your application?

At most, it should take 30 days for NSFAS to approve your application. However, in some cases it may take longer due to background checks and the verification process.
How much does NSFAS pay in total?
To sum it up, NSFAS is giving each of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students around R859 per month and R34250 per year for as long as their degree continues.
