Is acrylic the same as Perspex?
Perspex® and acrylic are essentially the same thing. Perspex® acrylic is a premium branded acrylic and, as such, is manufactured to the highest industry standards possible. Perspex® acrylic has an enviable reputation as the very best acrylic available.
Which is stronger acrylic or Perspex?
As you can see, polycarbonate is the stronger material – and this is reflected in its common applications as an all-weather glazing material and as bulletproof ‘glass’. Acrylic is typically a more rigid plastic, whereas polycarbonate can be purchased in various flexible grades.
How long does Perspex last?
All of the acrylic sheet Emco Plastics sells is manufactured with plenty of Ultra-violet stabilizer (UV) protection. This means that with proper maintenance of the Plexiglas® acrylic sheet, it should last 10 years or more before it ever yellows.
