What is SAFETY IN SOCIETY?
The National Certificate (Safety in Society) is a program at each of Levels 2, 3, and 4 of the NQF. This program is designed to provide both the theory and practice of Safety in Society. The practical component of the study may be offered in the workplace or in a simulated workplace environment. It will provide students with an opportunity to experience work situations during the period of study.

What will I learn?
The vocational subjects for the National Certificate (Vocational) Information Technology are:
- Governance (Levels 2-4)
- Criminal Law and Procedure (Levels 2-4)
- Criminal Justice System (Levels 2-4)
- Policing Practice (Levels 2-4)
- Criminology (Level 2-4)
What are the minimum entrance requirements
- A year-end school report for Grade 9 or
- An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
- An approved bridging program designed for the specific purpose to access NQF Level 2, or
- A Recognition of Prior Learning (RLP) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2.
Duration
3 years full-time (1 year per level; January – December)
