What is Mechanical: Fitter & Turner N4 – N6.?

The courses presented at Northlink College are career-orientated to bridge the gap between the workshop and the world of work with the least disruption at the end of the training period.

Students who attend the simulated training are expected to wear the required safety attire (Helmet, Safety Shoes, and overall) at all times.

The Competency Based Modular Training (CBMT) is the first stage in your career path that will allow the student to attain artisan status by successfully completing a trade test, after the prescribed work-based (on-site) experience.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

What do I need to have completed before I can apply to study this course?

  • To enter N4 – Grade 12, (with related subjects and 50% pass) N3 Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • To enter N5 – N4 Certificate, 4 related subjects or equivalent qualification
  • To enter N6 – N5 Certificate or equivalent qualification

You must have passed the following subjects at school:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • English

The criteria for application for the National N-Diploma are:

  • A minimum of 4 subjects completed at each level of certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in the field of study.

COURSE DURATION

  • 1 year (each level is 12 weeks)
  • 2 years of practical work experience in the industry for a National N-Diploma
  • Enrolment in January, May, and September.
