Dullstroom, also known as Emnothweni, is a small town in Mpumalanga province, South Africa. The town lies 35 kilometers north of Belfast and some 53 kilometers southwest of Lydenburg on the R540 road.

Located in the South African province of Mpumalanga, Dullstroom is a small town well known for being the country’s premier fly fishing region. It’s a mere two-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, making it the ideal stop for those en route to the Kruger National Park.
At an altitude of 2076 above sea level making it one of the highest towns in South Africa, Dullstroom’s weather conditions are similar to that of the Scottish Highlands with its misty, almost sub-alpine climate.
With an average rainfall in excess of 800 mm, Dullstroom has a rich flora with its grasslands and abundance of wildflowers, with over 200 species such as pink gladiolas, osteospermums, pelargoniums, Muhlenbergia, orchids, and tree ferns to name a select few.
Nature lovers will enjoy outdoor activities such as walks in the Steenkampsberg Nature Reserve and bird-watching. It is a great place where visitors can enjoy spotting some of the rare bird species as well as all three species of South African cranes, which are endangered.
